This sweet summer melon salad with fresh cucumber and plums is the perfect peer for your grilled dishes and a fun and delicious way to get those healthy carbs in!

It can’t get any summery with this fresh, sweet, and delicious Galia melon salad with the tangy taste of plums, cucumber, and tomatoes. This salad was the sweetest salad I have ever attempted to make that I thought it can pass for a dessert as well!
This year we had a fruitful Galia melon harvest, and I thought I had to consume those four, huge, Galia melons before they get over ripped. So I had to come up with something super quick, easy, delicious, and of course healthy! Turns out this salad was the perfect side dish for our grilled meat dishes!

There are no rules for making this salad really. All you need to do is chop everything and throw in a salad bowl, add your favorite toppings and voila!

What type of melon I should use for this salad?
I believe, of all types of melon, Galia, Cantaloupe, and Canary melon will be the perfect choice for this recipe as these types have a distinctively sweet, but not overly sweet taste and a slightly tangy flavor that peers well with cucumber and plums. I personally used Galia melon for this recipe and I recommend using one of the types mentioned above for a sweet, delicious, and refreshing summer salad. Make sure that you are using a moderately ripe melon for a better taste.

Can I use other toppings?
Absolutely! Using dried apricots is optional. You can also incorporate nuts, raisins, or chopped mint leaves. What I love about some salad recipes is they are customizable, you can always play and experiment with different ingredients.
